Week 3: My Favorite Quotation

“Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, then it’s not the end.” ~Ed Sheeran
This quote means a lot to me. Maybe because one of my favorite artists said it, maybe because of the poet-like quality of it, maybe even the message behind the words. All I know, is that when I’m feeling down, repeating this over and over again, will make me feel okay again.

One of the reasons why I like this quote is because it is sort-of like my stress reliever. Some people count to 10, some go cry alone, some use a stress ball. All I have to do is repeat this over and over again to myself, and instantly it makes me feel like whatever happened was done with, that it’s not the end of the world.

On top of that, this quote was was written by one of my favorite artists, Ed Sheeran. He is a big inspiration to me, and his story also gives some meaning behind his words. When he first tried to get into the music business, he was instantly rejected. Nobody liked his quirky quality, his bright red hair, the fact that he was different. You had to sound like every other singer in the industry. That was when Ed got very depressed. He started singing his songs alone outside, oblivious to the rest of the world. Then one day, a record dealer heard him pkaying, and immediately asked him to record some songs in the studio. He turned out to be a hit.

So basically, for me, this quote is saying, always follow your dreams and never give up. Everything will be okay in the end.

  1. Hi Shampura!

My favourite quote would be “Life goes on.” because throughout my whole entire life, I know life goes on, it doesn’t stop for me or anyone. I’ll have to face every single problem in life even if I want to escape, because life goes on. I love your quote too!

  3. Hi Shampurna,
I like your quote by Ed Sheeran. One of my favorite quotes is from Cars- a movie I have seen WAY too many times. In Cars, Mama Toppolino says to McQueen “Chi trova un amico, trova un tesoro”and it means “Whoever finds a friend, finds a treasure. She wanted to remind him how precious friendships are and to make sure he didn’t lose his with Mater. I really like this quote because friendships are really important, and I think that Mama Toppolino captured this concept really well in this quote.

    • Thanks! I have only seen the first Cars movie (I know, what a disgrace), but I really love Mama Toppolino! She is really funny and nice and overall has a great personality! I really love your quote too!

  4. My favorite quote is “There’s nowhere you can be that isn’t where you’re meant to be.” It’s from the song “All You Need Is Love” by The Beatles.

I love Ed Sheeran as well! My favorite song by him is “Wake Me Up”. What’s yours?

    • Haha! I really love the Beatles, and my favorite songs by the Beatles are probably Blackbird or Eleanor Rigby! My favorite song by Ed Sheeran would either be Wake Me Up, Small Bump, or Grade 8! We have really good taste in music! 🙂

  5. Wow, that quote is really powerful. I can it means a lot to you so thank you for sharing it with us bloggers. I myself don’t do anything when I get sad, besides freezing up. After I’ve calmed down I usually go about my daily business, maybe with a little less enthusiasm though.
